LOWER DIR (Kashmir English): Five suspects apprehended after an unknown assailant opened fire on the house of national cricket team fast bowler Naseem Shah in Lower Dir district, police said on Sunday.
According to the police, the incident occurred at Shah’s residence in Mayar, Lower Dir, where the miscreants partially damaged the main gate, windows, and a parked vehicle during the firing.
Police reached the scene promptly as soon as the information was received, but the suspects managed to flee before being arrested.
Police cordoned off the area and started a search operation, arresting five suspects.
A case of the incident has been registered at the Mayar Police Station, and operations are underway to arrest those involved.
Naseem Shah, a 22-year-old, is one of Pakistan’s most promising fast bowlers. Born on February 15, 2003, in Mayar, Lower Dir, Shah rose through the domestic cricket ranks before making his international debut.
He made his Test debut in November 2019 against Australia and has since featured in Pakistan’s ODI and T20 squads.
