MIRPUR (Kashmir English): Mirpur Divisional Teaching Hospital launched Spring tree plantation drive on Monday in all three districts of Mirpur division including Mirpur, Kotli and Bhimber.
The campaign has also been started in the subordinate health units in the districts operating under the auspices of the AJK State Health Services Department.
Commissioner inaugurates Tree plantation drive
Mirpur Divisional Commissioner Ch. Mukhtar Hussain inaugurated the campaign by planting a sapling of orchard tree at the lawn of the hospital.
Besides, Medical Superintendent of the hospital Dr. Amir Aziz Sardar, DHO Dr. Fida Hussain, District President PMA AJK Dr. Ejaz Raja, PID Divisional head Javed Malik, President NGO Coordination Council Mirpur-AJK Dr. Tahir Mahmood, Deputy Medical Superintendent Mirpur-AJK Div. Teaching Hospital Dr. Maria Zulfiqar, Dr. Rizwan Bostan, Syed Rajab Shah and others also planted the sampling of orchard trees as part of the tree plantation campaign.
Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Mirpur Division Chaudhry Mukhtar Hussain said that according to the vision of Azad Jammu Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq massive tree plantation drive has been kicked off in all three districts of Mirpur division including Mirpur, Kotli and Bhimber in order to make the region environment friendly.
The Commissioner directed all the state functionaries, the officers and employees of all the government departments and institutions of Mirpur Division to enthusiastically participate in the tree plantation drive in their offices, government and private areas, schools, colleges, roadsides, industrial areas and other available spaces with the coordination of civil society.
“Planting trees is the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him) which are the jewel of the beauty of the earth”, Ch. Mukhtar said.
