RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): The authorities have decided to suspend the Metro Bus service in the twin cities, specifically between the Saddar and Pak Secretariat stations, until November 13 during the movement of teams for the tri-nation ODI series at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
Additionally, three specific Metro Bus stations, Khatm-e-Nabuwwat, IJP, and Sixth Road, will remain closed during the cricket matches.
According to Metro Bus sources, this decision was made under the directives of the district administration. Furthermore, the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has issued a traffic advisory for Sunday in view of the Sri Lankan cricket team’s movement.
Traffic diversions will be established at various points along the Srinagar Highway, and the flow of traffic may slow down temporarily. ITP officials informed APP that motorists are advised to use alternative routes to avoid any inconvenience during the team’s transit.
Islambad Traffic Plan
As per the recent traffic plan, all roads within the twin cities (Islamabad and Rawalpindi) are open. According to the authorities, no roads will be closed as of now.
The public is urged to avoid spreading false information regarding road closures. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf long march has reached Gandi Chowk in Lakki Marwat.
