MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Malik Muhammad Babar Ayaz has been appointed as the new President and Chief Executive Officer of Bank of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (BAJK) for three years.
According to a notification issued by the Services Department, the AJK government has approved the appointment of Babar Ayaz for a period of three years on a contract basis on the recommendation of the Selection Board.
“He has been appointed subject to the condition that ‘Fit and Proper Test’ criteria prescribed by the State Bank of Pakistan shall be observed as and when the Bank is granted the Scheduled Status,” the notification stated.
It further added that the terms and conditions and salary package shall be settled separately by the Board of Directors of the Bank of AJK.
Malik Babar is a trusted and experienced name in the financial sector and banking industry. He has extensive experience in the field of corporate, commercial, and Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) banking.
He has been serving as Executive Vice President and Country Head of SME at Bank of Punjab (BoP) for a long time, where he has achieved significant success in the banking and financial sector.
This year, he has also been elected as a Board Member of the School of Business of Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).
