TOKYO (Kashmir English): Malaysia defeated Pakistan 5-4 in the Asian Games hockey event in Japan on Saturday.
In the Group B match of the ongoing Asian Games hockey tournament, the contest between Pakistan and Malaysia was tied at 3-3 heading into the third quarter.
In the fourth quarter, Pakistan’s Sufyan Khan scored a goal to give his team a one-goal lead; however, Malaysia scored twice in the final five minutes to defeat Pakistan 5-4.
Sufyan Khan scored all four of Pakistan’s goals. Malaysia currently holds the top spot in Group B, while Pakistan sits in second place.
It is worth noting that Pakistan will play its final group stage match against Oman.
Pakistan thrash Thailand 9-0 in Asian Games hockey opener
Pakistan made a winning start to their hockey campaign at the Asian Games in Japan by defeating Thailand 9-0.
In the Group B match, Pakistan played aggressively from the outset, maintaining constant pressure on Thailand’s defense.
The national team delivered a stellar performance, scoring a total of nine goals, while Thailand failed to score any.
With this victory, Pakistan successfully launched its Group B campaign. The group also includes teams from Malaysia, China, Oman, Uzbekistan, and Thailand.
