ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Senior Hurriyat Conference Leader and Vice Chairman, Friends of Kashmir International (FoKI) Abdul Hameed Lone has urged the US President Donald Trump to play his effective role in resolving the burning issue of Kashmir that, he feared, might lead to a nuclear war in South Asia.

The situation in Indian held Kashmir has taken a worst turn as it’s linked with historical, social, political and geo-political roots in this disputed state, Lone said, adding that false flag operation conducted by Indian forces and intelligence agencies have caused tension that could lead to a nuclear war between the two nuclear countries.

Illegal detention of Kashmiris

Lone went on to say that use of brutal force, illegal detention of Kashmiris in Kashmir and across India, are speaking loudly about the hooliganism of India that if not stopped by international players might prove detrimental for entire south Asian region.

To save not only south Asian region and entire world from Indian war mongers’ lust, the world community must play its role at this juncture, Lone said and added that world leaders should press India and its government to stay back from any adventurism.

Lone in his statement praised Trump’s call asking India and Pakistan to stay back from sort of tension and let peace prevailing in the region.

“Donald Trump must take a step forward to help Kashmiri people exercise their inalienable right of self-determination as enshrined in United Nations Charter and its resolutions.

He stressed on the implementation of the UN resolutions regarding solution of over 70-year-old impending Kashmir issue.

He said that peace will remain a pipedream in south Asia until Kashmir issue is resolved as per wishes and aspirations of Kashmiri people striving for the last seven decades.

Lone expressed deep concern over the ongoing human rights violations in Kashmir, saying that Indian government has let loose a reign of terror in the territory and by indulging in worst human rights violations it has deprived Kashmiris from their right to prosper.
