KASUR (Kashmir English): The three-day celebrations of the 269th Urs of the great Sufi poet and saint Hazrat Baba Bulleh Shah (RA) are continuing with devotion and respect in Kasur.
On the occasion of the Urs, the district administration has declared a local holiday on Saturday, August 29. Today is the second day of the three-day Urs celebrations of Baba Bulleh Shah (RA), in which a large number of pilgrims from all over the country are reaching Kasur. Pilgrims are visiting the shrine of Hazrat Baba Bulleh Shah (RA) and offering Fateha and special prayers.
Various spiritual gatherings are being organized on the second day of the Urs, where devotees are participating in the gatherings of Sufi poetry and remembrance.
According to the district administration, there will be a local holiday in Kasur on Saturday, August 29, on the occasion of the Urs. The holiday will apply to the district offices working under the Deputy Commissioner and the relevant district government institutions.
The administration has made foolproof security arrangements to protect the pilgrims during the Urs. Police personnel are deployed in and around the shrine, while surveillance is also being carried out at important places.
For the convenience of the pilgrims, a large langar has also been arranged by the district administration so that food and drink facilities can be provided to the devotees coming to participate in the Urs.
The three-day celebrations of the 269th Urs of Bulleh Shah will conclude tomorrow. A large number of pilgrims are expected to arrive on the last day of the Urs, in view of which security and other arrangements will be maintained.
