SAUDI ARABIA (Kashmir English): Live Hajj 2025 Sermon: Sheikh Dr Saleh bin Abdullah bin Humaid, the Imam of Masjid al-Haram and a member of Saudi Arabia’s Council of Senior Scholars, delivered the Hajj 2025 sermon from Masjid al-Namirah on Thursday.

Speaking to the vast gathering of pilgrims at Mount Arafat, he urged Muslims to embrace “Taqwa” and maintain fear of Allah in their hearts.

Sheikh Dr Saleh reminded everyone in the sermon that they should make sure to pray and contribute to helping those who are in need. He asked Muslims to take care of their neighbours and remember the tricks of Iblis. “Iblis is your enemy, avoid following him and keep praying to Allah,” he said.

He added, “Believers were also instructed to remain faithful to their promises and commitments, with a warning that the devil seeks to create divisions among them.”

“O Allah, help the people of Palestine and destroy its enemies”, the Imam prayed, acknowledging the ongoing troubles and pain of Palestinians, “O Allah, forgive the martyrs of Palestine and grant complete healing to the wounded.”

He said that Allah tells believers to work together in doing good and to live with kindness and respect. The sermon encouraged Muslims to be good to their parents and always be honest.

It also reminded people to care for orphans, the poor, widows, and their neighbours. Allah does not like those who are proud or show off.

Millions of pilgrims are present in Arafat, marking the most important day of the Hajj journey, Wuquf-e-Arafat. The Arafat sermon, known as the Hajj Khutba, is a deeply spiritual and unifying moment for Muslims around the world, whether they are present in person or watching from home. It serves as a reminder of faith, reflection, and unity.

Hajj is one of the most important beliefs in Islam and attracts millions of Muslims from every part of the world. The experience means a lot to individuals and is considered by some to be one of the most significant journeys in life. While pilgrims start their rituals, the sound of “Labbaik Allahumma Labbaik” can be heard filling the city of Makkah.

There are many Pakistani pilgrims on Hajj this year; 88,301 are part of the government scheme and 27,012 are part of private schemes. These pilgrims were transported to Mina in buses from various residential locations such as Aziziyah, Naseem, and Batha Quraish.

After wearing ihram and offering two rakats of prayer, they made their intention for Hajj and headed to Mina. On the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah, they are making their way to Arafat for the main rite of Hajj.

With high temperatures during the Hajj days, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health has issued warnings about heat-related risks. Pilgrims have been advised to stay hydrated, use sun protection, and limit physical activity between 10AM and 4PM.

Many pilgrims have been spotted carrying white umbrellas to shield themselves from the sun, as the kingdom has put in place improved heat safety measures following last year’s heatwave.
