MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Law enforcement agencies (LEAs) arrested a man affiliated with the proscribed Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) and recovered weapons from his possession in Muzaffarabad.
As per the sources, the IB and Muzaffarabad Police conducted a joint operation in AJK’s capital, arresting Muhammad Ijaz Mir, a resident of Raru, Muzaffarabad.
Officials said three M4 rifles, six magazines, a pistol, and around 150 rounds of ammunition were recovered from the suspect during the operation.
A day earlier, Sudhnoti police also recovered weapons and ammunition in a joint operation.
According to sources, police have started further investigation into the recovered weapons and the activities of the arrested suspect.
The arrest and recovery of weapons come amid previous operations by law-enforcement agencies where weapons had been recovered from individuals associated with the banned Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC).
