LAHORE (Kashmir English): The Punjab Cabinet has approved a proposal to change the dates for Basant in Lahore; consequently, the Basant festival will now be celebrated in the city from March 12 to March 14, 2027.
According to media reports, the new schedule for Basant was approved by the provincial cabinet.
Previously, the Government of Punjab had announced a 10-day Basant celebration in Lahore, scheduled from January 29 to February 7, 2027; however, this schedule has now been revised.
The Deputy Commissioner of Lahore had submitted a proposal to the Punjab Home Department to change the dates for Basant, after which the Home Department forwarded it to the provincial cabinet for approval.
Following the cabinet’s approval, the new dates for Basant have been set for March 12–14, 2027.
Under this new schedule, Basant festivities in Lahore will take place in March 2027, with these new dates replacing the previously announced schedule for January and February.
