ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Kuwait has lifted its 19-year-long visa ban on Pakistani nationals, said the government officials on Monday.
Focal Person Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis, Mustafa Malik in a statement said that Kuwaiti government had resumed issuing work, visit, family, tourist, and commercial visas to Pakistani nationals.
He was of the view that the step would provide thousands of Pakistanis with opportunities for employment, business, and tourism in Kuwait.
“All these visas can be obtained through online platform,” the focal person said and added the world was opening its doors to skilled Pakistani workers.
He said an annual job quota would be allocated for Pakistani citizens in Italy as well, adding that a memorandum of understanding (MoU) had also been signed with the European country.
Arab nations are also keen to employ skilled Pakistani workers,” the focal person said further.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s ambassador to Kuwait, Dr Zaffar Iqbal, has announced plans to bring 1,200 Pakistani nurses to Kuwait soon to support the Gulf country’s healthcare sector.
He revealed that the first group of 125 nurses was scheduled to arrive in Kuwait last week but their arrival was delayed due to housing-related issues.
He said that special teams are actively working to resolve the matter, and that the nurses are now expected to arrive in the next few days.
Announcing the significant development in visa facilitation, the Ambassador said Kuwaiti authorities have resumed issuing a wide range of visas to Pakistani nationals, including work, family visit, dependent, tourist, and commercial visas — starting this May.
