PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government on Wednesday announced summer vacation for public and private schools across the province.
As per the notification issued by the Primary and Secondary Education Department, summer vacations for primary schools in the summer zone (plains areas) will be observed from June 1 to August 31.
While middle schools in the summer zone will observe vacations from June 15 to August 31.
Furthermore, the notification stated that both government and private educational institutions in winter zone will remain closed from July 1 to July 31 on account of summer vacations.
Earlier, the Punjab Education Department announced that summer vacations in schools across the province will begin earlier than planned, starting from May 28, due to the ongoing severe heatwave.
The announcement comes as temperatures continue to rise sharply across the region, with the government prioritising the safety and well-being of students and school staff.
The Punjab Minister of Education, Rana Sikandar Hayat, announced that the province’s schools will commence summer vacations this Friday, May 28, because of the heatwave.
