Kotli police arrest two drug dealer, recover hashish

KOTLI (Kashmir English): In a significant bust, the Station House Officer (SHO) of police station Sarsawa, along with other police officers, arrested two individuals and recovered 610 grams of Hashish (Drug) from their possession.

The operation was launched on the directive of SP Adeel Ahmed Langrial. The arrested individuals are identified as Sharafat son of Shahpal, a Gujjar resident of Samlir Panjira, and Yasir son of Ajaib, a Rajput resident of Bobra Panjira.

Additionally, police also seized the motorcycle, which was in the possession of the accused. The police have also filed a lawsuit against the two. This move is a part of a massive crackdown that the government has launched to control drug dealing across the country.

Earlier, the Dadyal police had arrested three drug dealers and seized a significant quantity of narcotics from their possession in a series of operations, police said on Thursday.

As per details, three drug dealers, Ahsan Ijaz, Shahzeb, and Haseeb Rashid, were arrested in Bhalot, Ara Jatan, and Dangal. The police recovered 1 kg 220 grams of hashish and 24 bottles of liquor.

The police spokesperson has said that separate cases have been registered against the accused, and the investigation has been initiated.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of SHO Dadyal Police Station Inspector Rashid Habib. It was carried out by a police team led by Sub-Inspector Naveed Siddique, ASI Munawar Hussain, and other personnel, following instructions from SSP Mirpur Khawar Ali Shaukat and DSP Dadial Syed Ishtiaq Gilani.
