BAJAUR (Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa) (Kashmir English): At least four police were martyred and two others injured in a cowardly attack by Khawarij elements at the Ababeel Squad of Bajaur Police on Wednesday.
Funeral prayers for the martyrs were offered at Police Lines Bajaur, which was attended by senior police and civil officials.
The injured officers from the cowardly attack are being provided with the best medical facilities at District Headquarters Hospital Khar.

A large contingent of police arrived at the scene and a search and strike operation is underway in the area, according to a statement by the Bajaur DPO, Muhammad Khalid.
DPO Bajaur Muhammad Khalid said that the terrorists who ambushed officers deployed for public safety will be hunted down and eliminated.
According to details, the funeral prayers for police officers Constable Yar Zada, Daud Khan, Imran, and Siraj, were offered at Police Lines Bajaur with full official honours.
The funeral prayers were attended by the Commandant Bajaur Scouts, District Police Officer Bajaur, Deputy Commissioner Bajaur, SP Investigation Bajaur, officers from police and civil departments, local elders, and representatives of civil society in large numbers.
After the funeral prayers, a smart contingent of police presented a salute to the martyrs. To pay tribute to the great sacrifices of the martyrs, floral wreaths were placed on their coffins, and special prayers were offered for the safety of the country and nation and for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks.
Subsequently, the bodies of the martyrs were dispatched to their native areas with a special police squad, where they will be laid to rest with full official honours.
It is worth noting that during Ramadan, special police contingents were deployed on various highways and in markets to protect the lives and property of the public.
Shortly before Iftar, terrorists from the Khawarij insurgency launched a cowardly attack on a patrolling party of the Ababeel Squad near Nawa Killi, resulting in the martyrdom of four police officers and injuries to two.
The injured officers, Irshad Khan and Aziz-ur-Rehman, are being provided immediate medical aid.
District Police Officer Muhammad Khalid reiterated his commitment that the sacrifices of the martyrs will not go in vain and that those involved will be brought to justice as soon as possible, according to the Spokesperson of Bajaur Police.
