MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) and across the globe observe October 27 as Black Day today to draw the world’s attention to the impending catastrophe caused by India’s continued illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir.

It was on October 27, 1947, when Indian troops invaded Jammu and Kashmir and occupied it in total violation of the Partition Plan of the subcontinent and against the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

Black Day to sensitize world community

Kashmiri leadership has urged the people in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and around the world to observe Black Day today to sensitize the international community about the urgency of resolving the Kashmir dispute and to avert a situation that may have disastrous implications for global peace.

Kashmiris have been under constant siege by one million trigger-happy Indian troops, paramilitary forces, and agencies who continue to brutalize Kashmiri society with atrocious vengeance.

Besides this, the Indian BJP government and its installed regime in IIOJK are hell-bent on imposing their Hindutva-RSS agenda on the Kashmiri people and changing the demography of the region.

The BJP’s Hindutva regime, pursuing the Israeli model, continues the genocide of Kashmiris by depriving them of their land, identity, resources, and culture.

Kashmir is the oldest unresolved issue on the UN agenda, posing a serious threat to regional peace if the oppressed people of the territory are not granted their right to self-determination.

The expansionist designs of the RSS-BJP regime have endangered the peace and stability of the entire region.
