ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has slammed Indian foreign minister S. Jaishankar’s recent statement he made on Jammu and Kashmir.
The Indian Minister made the statement during a function at Chatham House in United Kingdom wherein he claimed that India has restored growth, economic activity and social justice in Jammu and Kashmir and that they are now waiting for the return of the parts of Jammu Kashmir under Pakistani control to resolve the issue completely.
According to the statement issued from central information office, the JKLF chief spokesman Muhammad Rafiq Dar, while terming the claims of Indian foreign minister as unrealistic, unreasonable and baseless, said that the ongoing freedom movement backed with unprecedented sacrifices, presence of almost a million Indian forces in the area, public commitments of Indian leaders and the UNSC resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir stand witness to the fact that entire State of Jammu an Kashmir is a long pending unresolved and internationally recognized issue concerning the fulfilment of aspirations and unfettered right of self-determination of a forcibly subjugated nation.
Remarks on Kashmir contrary to UNSC resolutions
The JKLF spokesman said that the Indian FM’s remarks on Kashmir are contrary to UNSC, as well as UNCIP resolutions.
He further said that many reports of some renowned local and international human rights organizations, especially of UNHRCO’s two consecutive reports of 2018 and 2019, on human rights situation in Jammu and Kashmir and the unabated use of draconian laws in place against the freedom-loving peaceful political workers and political victimization of top pro-freedom political leaders serves as an eye opener to the world conscience about the false Indian claims of restoring social justice and all.
The JKLF spokesman reiterated its party stand that Jammu and Kashmir belongs to none other than its State Subjects, and elaborated that Kashmir is not a territorial dispute between India and Pakistan to be resolved by these two.
While condemning the arrogant attitude of the Indian minister, he termed the Indian claims of taking the other part of Jammu Kashmir (AJK and GB) as their wishful thinking.
