ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Internet services have been successfully restored in Islamabad and Rawalpindi following the repair of an optical fiber problem, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has reported.
PTA further reported that the fault in the optical fiber within the network of a telecom company has been successfully rectified.
After the repair, internet services have been normalized in the twin cities after a disruption that caused some disturbance in the area with regard to mobile data and Wi-Fi services.
The PTA previously reported that its teams are working to repair the optical fiber problem and normalize services in the affected region.
Now that the problem has been successfully sorted out, the PTA says that the internet services in Islamabad and Rawalpindi are running normally.
The security situation in the twin cities had temporarily emerged due to a demonstration being planned for Sunday (today), but the demonstrations have been rescheduled.
