NEW DELHI (Kashmir English): Punjabi influencer and renowned makeup artist Madh Sandhu was shot dead in the city of Amritsar, in the Indian state of Punjab.
According to the police, Madh Sandhu was targeted by two unidentified motorcyclists around 6:00 PM on Saturday; the assailants fled the scene after the incident.
Madh Sandhu sustained critical gunshot wounds. He was being rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries on the way. Police officials state that evidence is being collected from the crime scene, and investigations are underway from various angles to identify and apprehend the attackers.
Authorities say that Madh Sandhu’s personal, professional, and social media connections are being examined to determine the motive behind the murder.
According to the police, it would be premature to make a definitive statement regarding the actual motive behind the incident before the investigation is complete.
Following the incident, a post appeared on a Facebook account under the name Goldy Dhillon, claiming responsibility for Madh Sandhu’s murder.
The police have included this social media post in their investigation and are assessing whether it was genuinely made by individuals involved in the attack or an associated group, or if it is an attempt to mislead the investigation.
Officials state that information regarding the account in question and the individuals behind it is also being gathered.
