ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Authorities have started shifting former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan from Adiala Jail to Shifa International Hospital for medical treatment in line with the Supreme Court’s order late Thursday, sources said.
Islamabad Police and jail authorities have completed the necessary legal formalities and preparations to transfer Khan to the hospital.
According to sources, the security squad assigned to the transfer has been instructed to remain on high alert, while more than 800 police personnel have been deployed along the route from Adiala Jail to the hospital.
Strict security arrangements have been placed around Shifa International Hospital. Islamabad Police have closed several routes leading to the hospital for traffic, while additional personnel have been deployed around the hospital.
According to officials, barriers have been installed on the main routes leading to the hospital.
Moreover, Mobile phones have been collected from relevant staff, while mobile signals in designated areas have also been suspended.
