IHC directs Islamabad police to recover missing Kashmiri man

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday directed Islamabad police to recover a missing Kashmiri man and to register a kidnapping case over his disappearance.

Naeem Muzaffar, hailing from Bagh, Azad Kashmir, was abducted from Islamabad’s G-10 sector on March 20, the abductee’s brother Waqar Ahmed said, who also filed a petition in the IHC.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani heard a petition and ordered the police to file a kidnapping case and ensure Naeem Muzaffar’s recovery.

During the proceedings, Advocate Imaan Mazari appeared on behalf of the petitioner, while police officials from Ramna Police Station and DSP Legal Sajid Cheema were also present in court.

The petitioner’s lawyer told the court that Muzafar had been missing for over a month. CCTV footage of the moment he was taken from his home was also presented before the court.

The missing citizen’s mother and the petitioner Waqar Ahmed were also present during the hearing.

The lawyer urged the court to issue orders for the recovery of the missing man and for the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) for kidnapping.

After ordering the victim’s recovery, the court adjourned the hearing until May 7.
