IHC asked to direct govt to regulate social media for under-16s

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The issue of regulating social media use by children under the age of 16 has reached the Islamabad High Court, where a petition has been filed seeking directions for the federal government to introduce comprehensive legislation to protect children from potential online harms.

The petition was filed through High Court advocates Muhammad Jalal Haider and Yahya Farid Khawaja, seeking the development of an effective legal and regulatory framework governing children’s use of social media platforms.
