LORDS (Kashmir English): England defeated Pakistan by 194 runs in the second Test played at Lord’s and also won the series 2-0.
England had given Pakistan a target of 389 runs to win, but the national team was all out for 194 runs in 50.5 overs in the second innings.
For Pakistan, Saud Shakeel batted brilliantly and scored 97 runs in 122 balls with the help of 13 fours and 2 sixes. Shan Masood scored 26, and Ali Usman scored 16 runs. Mohammad Abbas was not out with 13 runs.
For England, Olly Robinson bowled devastatingly and took 4 wickets for 24 runs in the second innings. Jofra Archer took 2 and Josh Tongue took 3 wickets.
Pakistan captain Babar Azam failed to play a big innings in the second innings and fell victim to Jofra Archer after scoring only 6 runs. Babar Azam could only score 8 runs in the first innings as well.
Abdullah Shafiq was dismissed without scoring a run in the second innings, while the entire Pakistan team was bundled out for just 110 runs in the first innings.
Earlier, England scored 290 runs in the first innings. Jamie Smith scored 61, Jordan Cox scored 55, and Gus Atkinson scored 45 runs.
Mohammad Abbas was the most successful bowler for Pakistan, taking 4 wickets for 73 runs, while Mohammad Ali took 3 and Khurram Shahzad took one wicket.
England scored 208 runs in the second innings, setting Pakistan a difficult target of 389 runs. Dean Lawrence played an important innings of 54 runs, while Harry Brook scored 34 and Emilio Gaye scored 31 runs.
Mohammad Abbas once again bowled brilliantly, taking 5 wickets. Khurram Shahzad took 2 wickets, while Mohammad Ali took 2 wickets.
Imam-ul-Haq could not play the second innings after the first innings after being diagnosed with a calf injury.
