DUBAI (Kashmir English): The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the players rankings for all three formats, with gains for Bangladesh players after their recent ODI series win against Australia.
According to the ICC press release, pacers Shoriful Islam, Mustafizur Rahman, and Taskin Ahmed made strides in the rankings for ODI bowlers.
Shoriful climbed 10 spots to 18th on the updated rankings, while Mustafizur made it to 25th position with a rise of 12 places, and Taskin went up five rungs to 27th.
“Towhid Hridoy compiled 154 runs across the three-match series with a best innings of 83, and the right-hander was duly rewarded by gaining seven spots to move to 20th on the updated list for ODI batters,” the ICC added.
Similarly, Afghanistan batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz also climbed six spots to 13th in the ODI batting ranking following his century against India in Dharamsala.
On the other hand, for Sri Lanka, the batter rose to 18th in the T20I batting rankings, spinner Wanindu Hasaranga secured eighth spot in the rankings, and Dunith Wellalage made up to 17th in the T20 bowling rankings.
ODI, Test rankings
In ODI batting rankings, New Zealand’s batsman Daryl Mitchell continues to be at the top, with Indian star Virat Kohli at the second position, while former Pakistan captain Babar Azam remains at the sixth position.
In the bowlers’ ODI rankings, Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan retained the first position, while Pakistan’s leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed is at the second position.
Pakistani fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has also moved up one place to take the ninth position in the top 10 bowlers in ODI.
England player Harry Brook made it to the top of the batter ranking in Test after a clinical performance against New Zealand in the Lord’s Test.
Australia’s Travis Head secured second spot, while Joe Root dropped to third from the top. Sri Lanka’s Kamindu Mendis rose to fifth spot, and India’s skipper Shubman Gill rose to eighth spot after the Afghanistan Test.
In Test bowling rankings, India ace Jasprit Bumrah remains at first, followed by Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins.
