BALI (Kashmir English): Indonesia’s 28-year-old fast bowler Gede Priandana achieved a unique milestone in the history of T20 International (T20I) cricket as he got five wickets in a single over.

Priandana accomplished this feat in the first T20I match against Cambodia in Bali.

This is the first time that any male or female player has taken 5 wickets in a single over in an international T20 match.

Chasing a target of 168 runs, Cambodia’s team had lost 5 wickets for 106 runs at the end of 15 overs.

In such a situation, bowling in his very first over, Priandana completed a hat-trick by taking continuous wickets on the first three balls.

After that, a dot ball came, then he took two more wickets to decide the match in favour of his team.

Cambodia’s team could only score one run in that over and lost the match by 60 runs.

It is worth noting that in domestic T20 cricket, five wickets have been taken in an over twice before.

14 T20I instances

Prior to this, there have been 14 instances of taking four wickets in an over in T20 Internationals, among which Lasith Malinga’s taking four wickets in four balls against New Zealand in 2019 is the most famous.
