DUBAI (Kashmir English): India captain Suryakumar Yadav and Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf on Friday were found guilty by the ICC of breaching the code of conduct during the ongoing T20I Asia Cup.

Both players were fined 30% of their match fee by ICC match referee Richie Richardson.

Yadav was fined for his political comments after the group match in the Asia Cup against Pakistan on September 14, where he dedicated the victory to the Indian armed forces and the victims of the Pahlagam terror attack.

The PCB had complained to the ICC that Suryakumar’s remarks constituted a breach of the ICC regulation to avoid political messaging.

In its complaint to the ICC, the PCB quoted Suryakumar’s remarks where he “dedicated today’s victory to our armed forces”.

On the other hand, Haris Rauf was punished for making gestures depicting the downing of Indian aircraft, which BCCI claimed was a reference to the recent military conflict between Pakistan and India.

Pakistan batter Sahibzada Farhan also faced disciplinary hearings for pulling up a gun celebration after scoring the fifty against India on September 21.

Farhan denied the allegations, stressing that his celebration was not political and that India was not targeted. “In Pashtun traditions, this is how celebrations are done,” Farhan reportedly said.
