ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The government updated its rules about how private medical colleges can admit students after their management team brought intense pressure to their attention.

Private medical colleges under their new regulations can now fill empty MBBS positions through their own efforts while they accept new student applications from prospective students.

The administrators of private colleges pushed for policy changes because sources report that more than 500 MBBS positions remained unfilled throughout their institutions. The government decision allows these colleges to control their admissions process while deciding how to fill their unoccupied positions.

The admission requirements for the 2025-26 academic year have undergone another change because multiple changes already affected the admission requirements.

The students and parents observe the repeated changes to the system because it affects their ability to enroll and join merit-based programs.
