Eid-ul-Azha Holidays in Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development said there will be a four-day public holiday around Eid al-Azha for people in the private sector as well as in non-profit institutions.
According to the Saudi state media, the holiday is planned to start on 9 Dhul Hijjah 1447 AH, which matches May 26, 2026. The ministry also explained that the time off will be handled based on Article 24 of the Labour Law, so it stays in line with the rules and guidance already approved for official holidays inside the Kingdom.
This announcement arrives together with a rundown of major Hajj dates. It is expected that the first day of Dhul Hijjah will land on Monday, May 18, 2026. Then the Day of Arafah, which is the standout religious event of Hajj, is set for Tuesday, May 26, 2026.
After that, Eid al-Adha will be marked on Wednesday, May 27, 2026. Overall, this move makes private sector holiday planning match the yearly Hajj rhythm, giving workers in non-government roles more consistent days off during one of the most important faith seasons in the Islamic calendar.
