NEW YORK (Kashmir English): Google has added new features in Gmail, as some features will be available free to users, while some will require a Google AI Pro or Ultra subscription.
The first premium AI features for Gmail is AI Overviews, which is similar to the AI Overviews available in Google Search.
Under this feature in Gmail, if you ask questions about your messages in the search bar, the AI model will provide details.
A free version of AI Overviews will also be available to users, which provides a summary of mail threads.
Another feature is Proofreader, which is available only to subscribers.
This feature will provide suggestions to improve the grammar, word choice, sentence structure, and other aspects of emails.
Additionally, AI features for Gmail also include AI Inbox, which is to clean up the clutter of emails so that you can focus on important messages.
The company did not provide further details, but this feature will also be limited to subscribers.
The Help Me Write and Suggested Replies features are being introduced for free Gmail users. These features will allow users to use Gemini to compose emails and replies.
According to the company, the introduction of these Gemini-based features has begun and will be available to US users first. They will be introduced in other countries in the coming months.
