ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistani students interested in pursuing higher education in the United States can now apply for the Fulbright Student Program 2027, one of the world’s most prestigious scholarship programmes.
Funded by the US Department of State and conducted in Pakistan through the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP), the programme provides full scholarships for studies in top universities in America.
This scholarship is intended mostly for those candidates who want to enroll in Master’s programs, but some options for enrolling in PhD and non-degree programs are available as well.
Selected candidates will get the package of financial support that will include full coverage of tuition costs, a monthly stipend, round-trip travel costs, health and accident insurance, books and study materials allowance, J-1 visa sponsorship, and university placement support.
The Fulbright Scholarship programme grants almost 4,000 scholarships each year to candidates from more than 160 countries around the globe.
Eligibility Criteria
According to USEFP, applicants must:
- Be Pakistani citizens residing in Pakistan
- Hold at least a four-year bachelor’s degree or 16 years of education for Master’s programmes
- Have a strong academic record
- Meet the English language and university admission requirements
- Commit to returning to Pakistan after completing their studies
Students from almost all academic disciplines are eligible to apply, except those seeking scholarships in clinical medicine.

Application for the academic year 2027-28 is now open via USEFP. Candidates wishing to apply are advised to visit the USEFP website to find information regarding eligibility criteria and the application procedure.
