KOTLI (Kashmir English): A team of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Food Authority, Kotli, took action against various food business operators in Khuiratta and Dongi Bazaar to review the cleanliness and food quality.
During the action, hotels, fast food chains, milk shops, and general stores were inspected.
During the inspection, the team obtained a total of 10 samples, including water, milk, and edible oil. During the inspection, 20 liters of substandard oil, 20 kg of substandard milk, and 10 expired snack packets were destroyed on the spot, the total value of which was about Rs 5,000.
A total fine of Rs 31,000 was imposed on various shops and food points for poor sanitation arrangements, violation of standards, and sale of substandard items.
The action included Food Safety Officer Munawar Ahmed Chohan, Food Analyst Muhammad Jalil, and Assistant Food Safety Officers Sardar Yasir, Asad Javed, Kamran Ishaq, and other officers.
According to the Food Authority, these measures will continue to improve food quality and provide safe food to the public.
