RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has arrived in Turkiye on an official visit, where he is expected to hold important meetings with the Turkish leadership and senior military officials.

During the visit, the security situation in the region, including defense and military cooperation between Pakistan and Turkey, will be discussed in detail.

According to the ISPR, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir will meet senior Turkish officials and military leadership during his visit to Turkiye.

Issues related to mutual relations and common interests of the two countries will be discussed in the meetings.

The visit will also discuss the possibilities of further expanding defense and military cooperation between Pakistan and Turkey. Cooperation in the defense sector between the two countries has already been going on for a long time.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir is expected to discuss the current security situation in the region and important issues of mutual interest in his meetings with Turkish officials. Both sides will also discuss matters related to regional peace and stability.

First meeting under Pakistan-Saudi-Turkiye defence pact to be held in Istanbul

The first meeting under the joint defense agreement signed between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye in Mecca will be held in Istanbul tomorrow.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has arrived in Istanbul to participate in the tri-lateral meeting.

According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office spokesperson, the meeting to be held in Istanbul will review the features and progress of the defense agreement.

The statement said that upon arrival in Istanbul, Turkey’s Deputy Chief of Staff for Administrative Affairs Brigadier General Şenol Warol, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Turkiye Dr. Yusuf Junaid, Ambassador of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Jihad Ergüne and other senior Turkish officials welcomed him.

After reaching Istanbul, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar visited the shrine of Hazrat Abu Ayub Ansari (RA) and offered Fateha.

On this occasion, he prayed for the security, peace and prosperity of Pakistan and the Pakistani people, while also praying specifically for the unity of the Muslim Ummah.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will hold important meetings and other engagements during his official visit to Turkiye.
