MURREE (Kashmir English): The Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) successful auction of 527 kanal and 10 marla land parcels that belong to Bahria Town in Murree District for recovering its pending taxes, as stated by our sources.
A Property located at Mauza Kathar Sharqi on Angori Road in Tehsil Murree District, Rawalpindi, has been put up for Public Auction by Multiple Attempts under the provisions of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001 & its Income Tax Rules 2002, having a Tax Default amounting to Rs. 26.47 billion.
Unlike an earlier one where businessman Musawar Abbasi emerged as the successful bidder, this time around the highest bid has come from a different buyer — sources told us who is actually behind the bid, another Pakistani businessman.
The FBR, after re-advertising for the auction last month, failed to complete the transaction as before and has now put up the notice stating that they reserve the right to reject or accept any bid “without giving any reason”.
Further details indicate that the amount (including all kinds of taxes) involved in acquiring the property amounts to roughly Rs. 825 million.
