RAWALAKOT (Kashmir English): A Fact-finding committee was formed to investigate the tragic police van accident on Toli Peer Lasdana Road, which visited the crash site to assess the situation first-hand, on Saturday.
The visit was carried out under the leadership of Additional Deputy Commissioner General Rawalakot, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Sardar Abdul Qadir, as directed by the Commissioner of Poonch.
The committee inspected the damaged vehicle and examined the road’s condition, safety measures, and other relevant factors to determine the possible causes of the fatal incident.
The police van accident on Toli Peer Lasdana Road occurred last Wednesday when a police vehicle plunged into a deep ravine, resulting in the death of all five police officers on board.
Following the accident, the officers were laid to rest after funeral prayers held in their native towns.
After the attack, Poonch’s Commissioner requested a full investigation which created the committee. In addition to the ADC General, the members are the Assistant Commissioner Rerah, the Deputy Superintendent of Roads (Bagh and Rawalakot), the Motor Vehicle Examiner Poonch and the District Traffic Inspector Bagh.
The Fact-finding committee members visited the site and got vital facts helpful for investigating the crash. They looked at the ground and collected data to identify the reasons that led to the police van accident on Toli Peer Lasdana Road.
Officials will share the full report with the Commissioner of Poonch after the investigation has been done.
Authorities are confident that the report will show what happened and the reasons for it. It helps to avoid further accidents by bringing attention to any issues that arose during the incident such as those with safety or road infrastructure.
While the investigation goes on, the public is curious about the Fact-finding committee’s findings and hopes the recommendations will bring important changes.
