ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Friday hiked electricity prices by Rs 0.75 per unit across the country as part of the monthly fuel adjustment for June 2026.
As per the notification, the increase in electricity rates will apply to consumers across the country, including K-Electric.
It stated that the additional charges will be recovered from consumers through their August electricity bills.
The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) had requested an increase of Rs1.20 per unit under the monthly fuel adjustment.
However, Nepra raised only Rs0.75 per liter following scrutiny of the data.
Lifeline prepaid consumers and electric vehicle (EV) charging stations will remain exempt from the increase, according to the notification.
The monthly fuel price adjustment is determined on the basis of changes in the prices of fuel used to generate electricity, due to which the bills of consumers are increased or decreased.
