ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), marking the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (PBUH), is being observed across Pakistan with religious devotion and spiritual enthusiasm.
Cities across the country have been decorated with green flags, colorful lights and illuminated mosques, while Milad gatherings, Naat Khawani, Durood-o-Salaam and processions are being held at various locations.
The day began in Lahore with a 21-gun salute after Fajr prayers at Mahfouz Shaheed Garrison. A Pakistan Army contingent presented the salute, while soldiers also raised slogans of Takbir.
Major processions held in Karachi
Karachi is witnessing several major Eid Milad-un-Nabi processions, with the traffic police implementing a special traffic plan.
MA Jinnah Road has been closed to general traffic during the processions, while alternative routes have been suggested for citizens.
Processions are being taken out from Shaheed Masjid Kharadar and New Memon Mosque, with one concluding at Gulzar Habib Mosque and another at Nishtar Park, where a Milad conference is also scheduled.
The traffic police have deployed personnel at diversion points and restricted the movement of heavy and commercial vehicles in the city on 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal.
Niyaz and religious gatherings across Pakistan
Special arrangements have been made for Niyaz and Langar in major cities, including Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Quetta, Faisalabad, Hyderabad, Sukkur and Karachi.
Mosques and public places have been decorated, while religious gatherings continue across the country. Police and other law enforcement agencies have also made comprehensive security arrangements to ensure the safety of devotees participating in the celebrations.
Islamabad Traffic Plan
As per the traffic advisory, several roads along and around the procession route will remain closed, and citizens have been advised to use alternative routes.
Traffic travelling from Sitara Market towards Saddar Road will be diverted near Iqbal Hall.
Motorists have been advised to use Service Road Dakkhana Stop, while traffic coming from the Fire Brigade side can use Suhrawardy Road, Zero Point, and Faisal Avenue.
Moreover, a diversion will be placed for traffic travelling from Iqbal Hall to Service Road G-7/3 near Razia Sharif Plaza, and motorists will be diverted to 7th Avenue.
Similarly, traffic travelling from Fazal Haq Road and China Chowk towards Kulsoom Plaza will be diverted, while motorists can use Jinnah Avenue as an alternative.
There will be a diversion for traffic travelling from Shuhada Chowk and GPO Chowk towards Melody and Aabpara Chowk. Citizens have been advised to use Shaheed-e-Millat Road from GPO Chowk.
Traffic coming from Aabpara Chowk to Suhrawardy Road and 7th Avenue Chowk will also be diverted. Motorists from Zero Point and Rawalpindi have been advised to use 7th Avenue, Faisal Avenue, and Srinagar Highway.
Islamabad Police have urged citizens to cooperate with traffic authorities and stay updated through the official social media pages of Islamabad Traffic Police and ITP FM 92.4.
