LAHORE (Kashmir English): The Punjab government established the Chief Minister IT Internship Programme on April 24, 2026. The program provides more than 2400 paid internships through major technology firms that operate throughout the province.

The program helps young Pakistanis develop their academic skills into successful professional careers. Officials describe this as one of the largest government-backed youth employment drives in Punjab’s history.

The scheme provides eligible graduates with a monthly stipend of Rs. 50000. Interns need to meet performance standards while completing their degree program, which the Higher Education Commission (HEC) verified.

The internship period lasts for five months. The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and the Directorate of Manpower and Welfare manage the program together. The official portal at cmitinterns.punjab.gov.pk provides interested candidates with application access.

The program provides training for multiple fields that currently have high job demand. The program includes web development, artificial intelligence, SEO, digital marketing, graphic design, and business development.

Candidates need to possess an IT or computer science degree that they obtained within the last four years. Applicants also need a valid CNIC and a Punjab domicile.

The initiative helps young people acquire work experience, which they can earn while receiving higher financial benefits.
