ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): According to the Meteorological Department, the weather is expected to remain dry in most parts of the country today; however, rain accompanied by thunderstorms is expected at some places in Kashmir and adjacent hilly areas.

 While dry weather is likely across most of Punjab, rain with gusty winds and thunderstorms may occur in isolated areas of Upper Punjab and a few districts, including Lahore; there is a possibility of rain in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Jhelum, and other areas over the next 48 hours.

Most areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are expected to remain dry, though rain with gusty winds and thunderstorms is anticipated in some locations within the upper districts.

 Hot and dry weather is expected across most of Sindh, with generally dry conditions likely in coastal areas, including Karachi. Dry weather is also expected in most parts of Balochistan, although it may remain hot in some areas; dry conditions are forecast for Ziarat and its surrounding regions as well.

Skies are expected to be partly cloudy with a chance of thunderstorms and rain in parts of Kashmir and adjacent hilly areas. Gilgit-Baltistan will likely see partly cloudy skies, with a possibility of rain in some locations.

According to the Meteorological Department, temperatures recorded this morning were: Islamabad 21°C, Lahore 26°C, Karachi 27°C, Peshawar 23°C, Quetta 15°C, Gilgit 11°C, Murree 12°C, and Muzaffarabad 20°C.

According to the Meteorological Department, a weak westerly weather system is likely to enter the upper regions starting October 9; under its influence, intermittent rain and thunderstorms are expected in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and northern Punjab.
