SCOTLAND (Kashmir English): U.S. President Donald Trump has once again taken credit for preventing a war between Pakistan and India. During a media talk in Scotland after meeting with the European Commission President, Donald Trump claimed that he helped both countries avoid a full-scale conflict through diplomatic efforts.
This is the 27th time Donald Trump has made such a statement about mediating peace between the two South Asian neighbors. He said that Pakistan and India were on the edge of a major war, but he reduced the tension by encouraging trade talks between them.
Trump emphasized that his past efforts in getting both countries to agree on ceasefires should not be forgotten. He believes his role in keeping peace in the region is a major achievement.
Earlier this year, on May 10, Donald Trump had posted on his social media platform “Truth Social” that Pakistan and India had agreed to a ceasefire, crediting himself for the breakthrough.
While Donald Trump continues to speak publicly about his involvement, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not commented on the matter. This silence has sparked strong criticism from opposition leaders in India. Rahul Gandhi has demanded answers from Modi, asking what losses India suffered and why the public hasn’t been informed about the situation with Pakistan.
The latest statement by Donald Trump adds to his long list of claims about international diplomacy, often made with little or no official confirmation from the countries involved.
