Toyota Corolla 2027 facelift likely to continue with old generation in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Indus Motor Company (IMC) is reportedly preparing to continue selling the existing 11th-generation Toyota Corolla in Pakistan, with a facelifted version expected to arrive instead of an entirely new generation.

Images of the reportedly upcoming Corolla facelift have surfaced online, sparking strong reactions among Pakistani car enthusiasts. The model could be introduced locally as the new Toyota Corolla or 2027 Corolla facelift.

Based on the leaked images, the facelift appears to retain the same chassis, frame and largely unchanged interior. The major visible updates include redesigned front and rear bumpers and a new rim design.

The existing 11th-generation Corolla has been sold in Pakistan since 2014, receiving several minor updates over the years. The latest development suggests that IMC may continue with the same strategy in 2027 rather than introducing the newer-generation Corolla already available in international markets.

The development has drawn mixed reactions online, with some Toyota fans criticising the facelift’s design and describing the changes as insufficient for a new model.

Industry observers note that Pakistani automakers, particularly the country’s major Japanese manufacturers, have historically continued producing older-generation models with periodic facelifts. The Corolla appears likely to follow the same trend.

Why is the new-generation Corolla not coming?

Some experts believe the newer 12th-generation Corolla may appear less bulky and spacious than the model currently sold in Pakistan. This could be among the factors influencing the decision to retain the existing model with updated styling.

Despite the criticism, the Corolla remains one of Pakistan’s most popular sedans, largely due to its reputation for reliability, durability and comfortable driving on long journeys and uneven roads.

Toyota Corolla 2027 facelift price in Pakistan

The price of the facelifted Corolla is not expected to rise significantly compared with the current model. Some estimates suggest that the Toyota Corolla Altis 1.6 facelift could be priced around Rs7.6 million, while the top-end Toyota Altis Grande 2027 facelift could cost around Rs8.1 million.

However, these prices are estimates and the final pricing will depend on IMC’s official launch and variant specifications.
