MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Azad Kashmir has been facing internal divisions before the potential no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Anwarul Haq.

According to the sources, the differences intensified in the party with the joining of former Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, who is reportedly backing Sardar Yaqoob for the prime ministership.

As per details, several candidates have emerged in the race for the top post. Sources indicate that the PPP is far from achieving the required numbers for either a no-confidence motion or government formation.

In another development, party General Secretary Raja Faisal Rathore has cancelled the PPP district Kotli organization formed by PPP Azad Kashmir President Chaudhry Yasin, who has currently extended his stay in London, speculating on the internal differences.

According to sources, the current Speaker of the Azad Kashmir Assembly, Chaudhry Latif Akbar, has reportedly joined the race for the prime ministership. His recent visit to Neelum is seen as part of his campaign efforts.

Sardar Tanveer Ilyas’ participation in the party has sparked differences, with his active support for Sardar Yaqoob’s candidacy. The internal conflicts within the PPP Azad Kashmir are likely to have significant implications for the party’s future.
