Defence Minister Khawaja Asif arrives in Morocco on official visit

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Monday arrived in the Kingdom of Morocco for an official visit from January 12 to 14, 2026.

Khawaja Asif was received at Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport by Major General Ahmed Hatuto, Commander Casablanca Army, senior government officials, and Pakistan’s Ambassador Syed Adil Gilani.

During the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed between Pakistan and Morocco to promote defense cooperation, which is a significant step towards further strengthening the bilateral defense relations between the two countries.

The Defence Minister will meet with the Moroccan Minister of State for National Defense Administration, Abdellatif Lodié. He will also lead delegation-level talks to enhance cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

The signing of the MoU marks a historic and mutually beneficial development in the defense relations between Pakistan and Morocco. The agreement will establish an institutional framework for permanent defense engagement.

It will create new opportunities for future cooperation in various areas related to defense and security. This includes military training, exchange of experiences, capacity building, and other joint initiatives.

The Defense Minister’s visit is a reflection of the long-standing friendly relations between Pakistan and Morocco.

The visit reflects the mutual commitment to further expand cooperation in defense, security, and other areas of common interest.
