SAMAHNI (Kashmir English): Deputy Commissioner Bhimber, Chaudhry Haq Nawaz, has suspended several government officials, including Patwaris, for corruption and disciplinary violations.
As per the notifications, three officials have been suspended from service for their alleged involvement in corrupt practices and dereliction of duties.
Two Patwaris, one from Baghsar and the other from Jandala villages of Samhani, were suspended for violating disciplinary rules. The Patwari from Baghsar was accused of taking bribes, while the Patwari from Jandala was accused of allowing construction on Khalsa Sarkar land.
The Deputy Commissioner has ordered a further probe into the allegations of misconduct against both officials. The suspended officials have been ordered to appear at the Assistant Commissioner Samahni’s office for an inquiry.
Moreover, a junior clerk, Asif Riaz, posted in the office of Tehsildar Bhimber, has been suspended for allegedly receiving an illegal gratification of Rs50,000 from a citizen for issuing a State Subject Certificate.
An inquiry has been ordered to probe into the matter, and the clerk will face further investigation and potential disciplinary action. An inquiry officer, Assistant Commissioner Bhimber, has been appointed to investigate the matter.
