ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): At least eleven people died and 20 were injured in an India-backed suicide attack outside Islamabad’s G-11 District Judicial Complex on Tuesday.
According to the initial report, the explosion took place outside the district courts, hitting people standing nearby.
The alleged suicide bomber was found lying on the road. Sources said that the suspected attacker approached the police van on a motorcycle before the explosion occurred.
According to eyewitnesses, two separate blasts were heard, which caused both the motorcycle and a nearby car to catch fire simultaneously.
The loud thud of the explosion created panic among the lawyers and people inside the judicial complex.
Security sources said that through his proxies, the Afghan Taliban and Fitna-ul-Khawarij, India launched an attack at Cadet College Wana tomorrow, and in Islamabad today.
Injuries and Casualties
According to the initial reports, eleven individuals have been killed, whereas 21 others have sustained severe injuries.
Rescue 1122 and police officials are transferring the dead bodies and the injured to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) hospital.
Additionally, Ambulances and relevant teams have reached the spot to control the fire. Police officials have safely evacuated the lawyers, Judges, and other individuals from the court building.
The police personnel have cordoned off the area and launched an investigation to assess the nature of the explosion.
Moreover, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad and the Commissioner visited the site and were briefed on the incident and the ongoing probe.
