RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): A civilian-operated quadcopter flown without the required permission in Rawalpindi was brought down through soft-kill measures on Friday night, according to sources.

Sources said the device was a small recreational quadcopter commonly used by hobbyists for leisure fun and photography. No camera or any other attachment confirming its purpose was found at the time of recovery.

Authorities stated that the citizen violated existing restrictions on operating quadcopters and similar unmanned aerial devices in the twin cities without prior authorization or the required license.

Sources said the quadcopter’s owner was arrested after the incident.
