ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Centre for International Strategic Studies (CISS) Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and the National Institute of Maritime Affairs (NIMA), Islamabad have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance mutual collaboration in academic and research initiatives.
The agreement was formally signed by President NIMA, Vice Admiral (Retd.) Ahmed Saeed, and Executive Director CISS-AJK Dr. Asma Shakir Khawaja at NIMA’s Head Office, Bahria University, Islamabad.
During the signing ceremony, Vice Admiral Ahmed Saeed welcomed the delegation from CISS-AJK and emphasized the importance of fostering partnerships between research institutions.
He highlighted the MoU’s role in strengthening collaboration between the two think tanks, particularly in advancing research on Pakistan’s maritime affairs and related strategic issues.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Asma Shakir Khawaja said that the agreement would serve as a cornerstone for knowledge-sharing, policy-oriented research, and joint educational initiatives.
She reiterated that the MoU would play a pivotal role in engaging and educating Pakistan’s youth on key national and maritime security issues through coordinated academic activities.
CISS, NIMA to promote research
Under this collaboration, CISS-AJK and NIMA will work together to promote high-quality research, organize seminars and conferences, and facilitate joint publications, further enriching Pakistan’s intellectual and strategic landscape.
