NEELUM VALLEY (Kashmir English): In a bid to enhance emergency preparedness in the sensitive border region of Dudhnial, the BERD Foundation has distributed first aid kits to help locals deal with any unforeseen situation, particularly in light of ongoing tensions along the Line of Control (LoC).
According to details, the kits were handed over through the Chairman of the Union Council and ward councillors, with the foundation represented by Field CRP Kamran Zaman Sulheria.
The distribution ceremony was attended by Chairman Union Council Dudhnial Akhtar Hussain Dar, Ward Councillor Ijaz Ahmad Khan, Abdul Latif Sulheria, and other local figures.
Representatives of the BERD Foundation stated that whether facing border hostilities or natural emergencies, serving humanity remains their top priority. They stressed that providing timely medical aid during crises is essential.
The BERD foundation further noted that more first aid kits would soon be distributed to ensure that trained youth are ready to respond swiftly in case of any emergency.
Previously, the Chinar School of Learning in Muzaffarabad conducted emergency response training in collaboration with the Civil Defence Department, equipping students with crucial life-saving skills.
Held in the capital city of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), the session aimed to prepare students to respond competently during emergencies. Participants learned practical first aid techniques, including wound dressing and safe victim rescue methods, while developing the confidence to remain calm in crises.
Civil Defence instructors demonstrated that national security extends beyond military defence, emphasizing every citizen’s role in emergency preparedness. “Emergency response training is essential for everyone,” they stressed during the session, highlighting the importance of widespread first aid knowledge for accidents or natural disasters.
The school administration and parents praised the initiative, recognizing its value in shaping responsible, community-minded future citizens. They noted such training not only enhanced safety awareness but also fostered a culture of preparedness among youth.
The program represented part of ongoing efforts to create well-rounded students capable of serving their communities in times of need.
