MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Food Authority has sealed a bakery and a fast food restaurant in Muzaffarabad for violating the Food Authority Act 2017, and also fined them for non-compliance.
According to the details, a team of the Food Authority under the supervision of District Food Controller Abrar Ahmed Mir inspected several eateries at Tahli Mandi and Gojra Bypass and found poor sanitation arrangements at the sealed bakery and fast food shop.
District Food Controller Abrar Ahmed Mir said that the purpose of today’s action was to check the cleanliness standards of bakeries, fast food centers, and hotels.
The Food Authority emphasized the importance of maintaining high cleanliness standards in food businesses, particularly those catering to tourists.
Food business operators were directed to implement the Food Authority’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and provide registered and quality food items to the public.
The District Food Controller urged the public to report complaints against traders selling unregistered or substandard items on the Food Authority’s helpline number 1280. The authority assured timely and effective action against violators.
