LAHORE (Kashmir English): Pakistan star batter Babar Azam has made history, becoming the all-time leading run-scorer in men’s T20Is, surpassing former Indian captain Rohit Sharma.
Azam achieved this feat during the second T20I of the three-match series against South Africa at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Friday, where he scored 11 runs*.
The former Pakistan skipper has now scored 4234 runs in 130 matches, three runs more than Sharma’s tally of 4231.

Babar landed in the middle today with 4223 runs, with the requirement of just nine runs to become the leading T20I scorer. He earlier failed to achieve the feat in the first T20I against South Africa in Rawalpindi, where he got out for a duck.
Babar got off to a smashing start to his innings with his trademark cover drive to Corbin Bosch, but runs slowed from his bat as his batting partner, Saim Ayub, was dominating the South African bowlers.
He ultimately scored the decisive run on the first delivery of the 12th over of Pakistan’s innings by working one off South Africa captain Donovan Ferreira for a single towards the long-off.
