MIRPUR (Kashmir English): Azad Kashmirs Ministers reaffirmed their commitment to development and Kashmiri freedom movement. The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Minister for Energy, Chaudhry Arshad Hussain, and the Minister for Housing and Physical Planning, Chaudhry Yasir Sultan, have stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq and with the guidance of President Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry, the AJK government is actively working for the development, progress, and prosperity of the region.
They mentioned that efforts are underway to improve facilities in the sectors of health, education, and employment. The ministers expressed these views while speaking at the inaugural prayer ceremony for the new residence of District Council Member Chaudhry Waqas Ali of Tarpa at his Officer Farmhouse.
The government ministers congratulated Chaudhry Waqas Ali on the construction of his new home and conveyed their best wishes. On the occasion, they emphasized that the country is rich in natural resources and that with dedication and hard work, great achievements are possible.
They said that collective efforts are required for the development and prosperity of the state. Since Azad Kashmir is the base camp of the Kashmir freedom movement, the ministers stressed the importance of striving not only for local development but also for the freedom of their brethren in occupied Kashmir.
They further stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq and the patronage of President Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry, the AJK government is actively highlighting the Kashmir freedom movement on the international stage.
Despite health issues, the President has traveled to the UK, USA, and other European countries and has protested at the United Nations, clearly conveying the message to the world that peace in the region is not possible without resolving the Kashmir issue.
The event was also attended by “Son of Kashmir” Chaudhry Sohaib Arshad, Chairman District Council Raja Naveed Akhtar Goga, Mayor Usman Ali Khalid, other district council members, Chairman Zakat Committee Chaudhry Saleem Akhtar, Deputy Commissioner Mirpur Yasir Riaz, SSP Mirpur Khawar Ali Shaukat, and numerous political, social figures, and a large number of local residents.
