TEHRAN (Kashmir English): Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has said that future face-to-face talks with the United States will never mean that Iran will accept the enemy’s position.
In a written statement carried by Iranian state media, Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei said that direct talks with the United States can only be part of the diplomatic process. This does not mean that Iran will abandon its national position or principled position.
He revealed that he had a different opinion regarding the agreement reached with the United States, but the Iranian president assured that he and his government would fully protect the rights of the Iranian nation and the interests of the resistance front, and also accepted responsibility for it.
Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, added that he approved the agreement based on this assurance and commitment to accept responsibility from Iranian President Masoud Pazishkian.
The Iranian Supreme Leader further warned that if the US tries to make greedy or additional demands during the implementation of this agreement, Iran will not accept it under any circumstances.
He further said that Iran will remain bound by the same provisions of the agreement that have been agreed upon between the two countries, but no unilateral pressure or new conditions will be accepted.
It should be remembered that today, US President Donald Trump, Iranian counterpart Masoud Pazishkian, and Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, the mediator of the Memorandum of Understanding, signed this document in their respective countries.
With the signing ceremony of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding to be held in Switzerland, the signing ceremony was canceled, where now the technical team of the parties will continue further discussions on the agreement, but the leaders will not be included.
After the signing of the agreement, Iran allowed oil tankers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, and the US also announced the lifting of the blockade of the Iranian Navy. Thus, maritime traffic on both sides was restored.
